Russell Schnurr is a graduate of the Bachelor of Applied Arts (Integrated Land Planning Technologies) program and the Urban Design Diploma program at Fanshawe College, and has over 12 years of GIS and land planning experience within both the private and public sectors. As the Coordinator of GIS Urban Planning, he promotes program wide events that provide students with meaningful, real-world planning experiences that enhance student learning.
He has completed projects in municipal land use, large scale renewable wind and solar energy, master parks and recreation planning and other unique planning issues. Professor Pol holds an undergraduate degree from Ryerson University in Urban and Regional Planning and a graduate degree from Western University in Public Administration.

William Pol, MPA, MCIP, RPP has more than 30 years of professional planning experience in municipal and provincial government, private planning practice and now teaches GIS and Urban Planning at Fanshawe College. His career includes development of land use planning policies, zoning by-laws, subdivisions, site plans and provided expert planning evidence before the Ontario Municipal Board.
